What are the signs and symptoms of a concussion? Most concussions occur without loss of consciousness.  Signs and symptoms can show up right after an injury or may not appear or be noticed until hours or days after the injury.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has provided a Fact Sheet for Athletes  so you can notice if a teammate, or yourself, have symptoms of a concussion.

Nearly 10% of high school injuries are concussions. The trick is for athletes not to return too quickly - nearly 40% of athletes return to play too soon.  Be sure to check with your healthcare provider before getting your athlete back in action.
