Contractual Risk Transfer: Requirements for Contractors Working on Client’s Premises

Posted by Dan Scheider

describe the imageIssue

A servicing contractor’s (roofing company) employee while working on the client’s premises falls from an elevated work station. We work with clients to structure their contractual relationship with servicing contractors so that the financial consequences of this accident will remain with the servicing contractor’s insurance program and not affect our client.

Value

We assist clients in drafting applicable insurance specifications that will require coverage enhancements that are readily available in the marketplace. These coverage enhancements will prevent the above accident from negatively affecting the loss ratio of our client’s insurance program.

Testimonial

“In 2013 we are working with the Scheider Team for a project to establish formal insurance requirements and indemnification language that will apply in various contractual relationships that Super Excavators enters into, including contractors that work on our buildings and facilities.”
