What motivated you to become an insurance professional?
As a fresh faced college grad I was simply looking for a job. I did quickly learn that there is a lot of assistance needed in this field and I felt I was a good fit to try and help people through the complicated world of insurance.
What do you love most about your work?
I love fixing issues. I really like taking a problem, tearing it apart, and developing a strategy to solve the problem that works best for all parties involved.
What has been your biggest success in the past year?
I would have to say that it has been watching a strategy we began in 2014 with a few of our clients still working through their 2016 renewal. These clients are still paying lower rates than they were in 2014 because of our strategic thinking and long-term plan.
How do you help your customers overcome their challenges?
I always start with the facts. Numbers are just numbers if you don't know what their meanings are. I also find it important in this financially sensitive world to present options that will cost more money, as not all solutions can be about saving money. Sometimes an easy fix will cost more but it's not up to us if that amount is too much - that decision is ultimately the clients.
What did you wake up excited about today?
That it is Friday!
What are you most looking forward to with your work in the year to come?
We are at a very interesting time for Employee Benefits. With the Frett Barrington acquisition we have a great opportunity to learn from a different set of eyes and take our capabilities to the next level.
